Discovery Ridge Elementary
Discovery Ridge Elementary is one of several new elementary schools in one of the fastest growing districts in St. Charles County. Discovery Ridge Elementary is 82,000 square feet and sits on a 15.17 acre site along with a new 8,700 square feet addition that is host to approximately 750 students and 70 faculty and staff members. This school was unique in the sense that the surrounding community had input in the design and was also coordinated with in conjunction with St. Charles County in their road widening project along Sommers Road. Challenges for the district was providing adequate storm water control per city regulations as well as being complaint with the Department of Natural Resources water quality requirements.
