Fifth Street and Ameristar Blvd.

Fifth Street and Ameristar Blvd.

Fifth Street and Ameristar Blvd. consisted of approximately 1,500 linear feet of widening and realignment.  The roadway was widened from 2 to 5 lanes through the length of the project and included intersection improvements at Fifth Street and South Main. Significant horizontal and vertical realignment of the street was required to remove 2-90 degree turns along the road and improve vertical sight distance.

Design accommodated the demolition of several buildings, and significant utility coordination and relocation.   A key component of this project was the street scape elements which added to the project.  The street scape enhancements included lights with banner arms, trees, landscaping, decorative walls and pedestrian facilities.
